Delicious steamed, sautéed or roasted, asparagus can be served with any dish to give it an extra special feel. As well as its versatility asparagus is rich in folate, fibre and vitamins A, C and K. Toss in some garlic or pine nuts for added flavour, you can also blend asparagus into a creamy sauce to serve with pasta. In fact, recipes involving asparagus abound, but keeping it simple can give the best result, with its unique flavour, asparagus steamed for a few minutes then drizzled with olive oil makes for a tasty side dish with minimal effort.
