What’s in the veg boxes?

Courgette flowers add colour to the veg boxes.

Everything is organic, seasonal, from the UK and as local as possible. In 2017, we grew (and sold!) 1.7 tonnes of local veg.

As far as I am aware, we are the only organic growers running our own box scheme in Manchester. Getting one of our boxes directly supports us to grow organic and local veg.

Find out how it works and how to order here.

When our new growing site in Cheshire is fully functional in 2019, we aim to grow 3 tonnes of local, organic veg. In 2017 we grew 1700kg of local organic veg. We grew 1107kg in 2016, up from 789kg the previous year. In 2016 40% of the value of the veg boxes was grown by us at Reddy Lane in Cheshire. This was up from 25% in the previous season. Our homegrown veg will be harvested hours before it is delivered to you, making it as fresh as possible. The rest comes from other organic growers in the region.

There is lots of information about what you can expect in the veg boxes as the seasons change in the Spring, Summer, Autumn/Winter pages of the website. And some tips on the seasonal treats of Spring here.

There is a page on the packaging we use here.

Even if you decide a veg box isn’t for you please support the stall at Levenshulme Market, join our mailing list by sending us an email, and follow/like the Reddy Lane social media to support local, seasonal and organic growing.
